Conversation #6 "How Can Peace Psychology Help Us Understand How to Take The Lead in Building a Culture of Peace?" - with Hal Bertilson, August 6. While peace psychology is not well known, it has much to offer in understanding the opportunities we have to create a culture of peace. In this teleconference Hal Bertilson will describe concepts and applications of peace psychology to make peace and build peaceful communities and nation states.

Hal Bertilson is a professor of psychology at the University of Wisconsin Superior, where he served as vice chancellor/provost in the 1990s (http://frontpage.uwsuper.edu/psychology/). Dr. Bertilson is a fellow in the International Society for Research on Aggression (http://www.israsociety.com/) and chairs the Conflict Resolution Initiative of Psychologists for Social Responsibility (http://www.psysr.org/). He teaches peace psychology and serves on the Advisory Council of the Campus Peace Center Program (http://campuspeacecenters.net/), a project of the NGO Committee on Spirituality, Values & Global Concerns (NY) at the UN. On August 17th, he will speak as a member of an American Psychological Association symposium on including social class in the psychology curriculum (http://www.apa.org/).
